Mellon Biological Services, LLC (MBS) has completed surveys for state and federally listed Threatened and Endangered Species on over 400 miles of power, sewer and seismic lines and hundreds of land development projects.
There are currently over 295 federal and state listed Threatened and Endangered plant species in Pennsylvania, with an additional 500+ Species of Special Concern (rare species and those with inadequate data to classify). Each of these species has its own specific habitat requirements and times when it is identifiable. MBS has the experience and expertise to complete any project accurately and as quickly as the target species allows.
MBS is on the United States Fish & Wildlife Services’ list of Qualified Northeastern Bulrush (Scirpus ancistrochaetus) Surveyors and has conducted or overseen surveys for other federally listed species including plants, mammals and birds.
There are two important qualities for any endangered species surveyor: knowledge of the local Threatened and Endangered Species and their habitats; and a good working relationship with the agencies that oversee these species. MBS qualifies on both counts to deliver complete and timely surveys to the appropriate agencies.
